There is no proverbial pot of gold at the end of Kenya’s many rainbows, but wherever it falls, and wherever you go, there is a golden land rich in the wealth of its contrasts, its landscapes, its cultures and the welcome it extends to all its guests and visitors.

One of Kenya’s major private conservation successes at the foot of Mt Kenya, Lewa Downs has been the Craig family home since 1924 when the Craig grandparents came from England and began raising cattle there.

Perhaps this is where the magic of old still exists, away from the mass tourism development seen in Kenya since independence? Where individuality is still an important criteria for operating unique properties and game concessions such as Lewa Downs, Shompole, Tana Delta Camp to name but a few.
